Why are adolescents so skinny?

Well we know why, high/fast metabolism


But it just seems weird, like a design flaw. At an age when you're growing, surely you should have plenty of fat and some muscle stores to get you through it - not be a stick-thin twig that looks like it could snap? 

You need some robustness to make sure you grow well. Being without an ounce of fat seems risky when you're developing, yet that's what a lot of youths are like.

because muscles dont grow if you dont subject them to physical resistance training + optimal diet
