When coming to California for an exchange semester...

...should I stay in a dorm?  or share a room or live in a host family?

I heard that dorms are extremly expensive in the Los Angeles Area.. like 5500$ for half a year.. and you legit have to share your room with another person. so no privacy.. no porn watching, masturbating or fucking landwhales..

in germany i pay 340 dollars for a room on my own.

there is no meal plan, you have to buy everything else, but its still much cheaper

I can also go to the University of Kentucky, but some posters have said that I should avoid anything in the US which isnt near the coasts.. too conservative.


I can either take part at the exchange programme of my German university , which has 2 contracts with American Universties, the one in Lexington, Kentucky, the other one in Long Beach, Calfornia.

Or I can take part at the Exchange Programme of the European Union(Erasmus), but when I take part on this I can only chose Universities in Europe.

I dont know if Europe is so good for partying. The only countries which can compete with the US when it comes to party culture and drinking are UK,and Ireland as far as I know. But the weather is shit.
