What causes gaps in upper teeth?

It's a compensation mechanism allowing horizontal growth of the upper maxilla while maintaining robustness of the overall lower skull. Large robust African Americans typically have gaps in their front teeth. Overeem also had a gap as well.

Sucking thumb/soother too much. Improper swallow where your tongue pushes forward too much. Those are my guesses.

I have the exact same shit, except my two front teeth are perfectly straight. It sucks because the teeth you smile with aren't your bottom teeth. I actually always kept my tongue at the top of my mouth, unfortunately I had it where it touched the sides of my top teeth and now there spaced a part and don't bite down properly with my bottom teeth.
