When I was a fat kid in high school with acne, I thought that once I lose weight and have clear skin I would be happy. Fast forward 5 years later, I am now acne free and sits at 10% body fat year round, but I am still depressed because I want MORE, I started to become obsessed over height and money because I just want EVERYTHING I can get to boost my LMS, the hedonic treadmill simply will not stop, no matter how much more I get, life is all about maximizing your dopamine until you die.

I think I'd be pretty satisfied with being 90th percentile in everything and reaping life's nectars from it

Will it stop the treadmill? Probably not, but I think it would slow it down quite a bit. That's a part about the hedonic treadmill that isn't talked about - you may not be able to stop it, but you can get to levels where it slows down and you can be satisfied for a solid chunk of time
