Please check out these two bimax simulations:
Both gifs have the same anterior advancement — measured by the length of the resulting posterior gap — but in one morph the maxilla is rotated counterclockwise with a corresponding impaction for a proper bite. There's obviously nothing wrong with the jaw in the before-images, but they're just morphs I made to get my bearings.
From the reading I've done there seems to be some aesthetic advantages — if you're a candidate — with a CCW rotation, e.g. improved mandible angle, less resulting mass at the base of the nose, a shorter lower third and a more curled, aesthetic philtrum (?).
Whenever I research my problems I keep bumping into posts by Kyra all over the web, which is understandable given that our issues are (were?) quite similar.
Am I understanding this right? Surgerycels please respond.
