to the point it looks wider than your skull viewed from front & back, even unflexed.

the ideal neck size is as wide as your jaw and thick enough to minimise your gay alien skull as much as possible

there is no concrete ideal number, it depends on the individual. it's all about proportions

most of male models have wider jaws than their necks. you're wrong.

I'd be careful with these and take it easy though. DOMs on the neck isn't fun.

You have to be really careful with your neck when training with heavy weights tbh. I used to lift a lot 7-8 years ago, and even though I didn't do any specific neck training exercises, I put a lot of strain on my neck just from my regular workout routine (military presses, bench presses, curls, shrugs, deadlifts, pullups, pushups, that sort of thing). My neck definitely got big and muscular, but I would get regular neck flareups where I'd have pain and stiffness and tension that lasted for a week or more, during which time I couldn't train. Warming up, stretching, doing every exercise carefully with perfect form - didn't help. I think I just overdid it tbh. I talked to many older gym veterans who told me they'd had lifelong neck issues because of their training, and they'd just learned to "deal with it."

These days I lift lighter weights and alternate between fast sets and slow sets (where you do every rep as slowly as possible). I'm still as buff as I was lifting the heavier weights, but there isn't nearly as much strain on my neck. For neck training, I don't use weights at all and never would. These weight-free floor exercises are all you need, as long as you do them regularly:

no, you just have to use lower weight for more reps.

Or, ditch the weights altogether and do the floor exercises I posted.

Weights are overrated and overused IMO. In terms of developing a robust, muscular, ripped physique, you really don't need them and can achieve everything with things like pushups, pullups, planks etc. Of course it's different if you're going for the freakish steroid-stuffed bodybuilder look (which most women find disgusting anyway).

@"Neck Brah"

I only do extension and flexion. Am I missing out much?

What is the rationale behind the rep ranges?

Which of the exercises do you think add the most to neck width? Lateral?

Thanks for this thread, this is probably the best looksmaxing thing I've seen on net.
no point in doing this if your lower third isn't good. Example - Alpha destiny

this had double jaw surgery or bsso. i remember him. the more drastic changes are due to this. also friendly reminder that big neck is useless when you dont have good mandible which prevents your jaw into melting into your neck one of the reasons which michael cera looks like shit is that his mandible blends right into his neck which makes him appear weak and comical.

it wasnt that bad when he was 16 and still had a visible jawline
