Except I have no friends and am making it up. Of course it's fucking depressing for me, but I want my parents to feel at least some pride their son is 'normal'. I spoke to my mother over the phone and her voice instantly changed and became excited/happy.

I told them I went out on New Year's Eve when in reality I drove around til midnight then went home. Except it will be harder this time around to fraud them considering I said we will be going to bars/clubs so I can't just take my car out and then drive home as they will expect me to get drunk. I'm thinking of making the excuse of driving to a friends house, then taking a cab out and then sleep over his house and then drive back home in the morning. This will require me to drive around for the night and then find a suitable location to sleep in my car.
