IMO what's more important is the number of pounds of fat you are carrying and not so much the percentage. What I mean by this is a sickly thin person with no lean muscle mass could have 9% body fat. When they gain 40lbs of muscle they still are carrying the same amount of fat except they now have 4% body fat which is almost dangerously low. 

if you need to know if you're at a healthy body fat percentage just look at your face. If you look gaunt with veins popping under your eyes it's time to gain a few pounds of fat. If you look chubby and have a blurry jawline you should lose a few pounds.

Your face should be slightly gaunt for peak aesthetics. Most MMs have slightly gaunt faces.
