No he did no such thing. Where the fuck did you come up with that? He wanted to help the average person who was being exploited by an unfair system. The problem with Karl Marx is that his policies weren't applicable, they didn't work, and that's largely because he didn't actually have much of a detailed policy plan. He was good at criticizing the system but beyond having the workers own the means of production he didn't really think things through. I don't defend socialism, because it works rather poorly. My policies are not socialist, they simply generate greater economic fairness.

Because it creates a much healthier and pleasant environment overall. This whole idea that we can and should "help ourselves" is just nonsense, promoted by rich-person propaganda. We are all utterly dependent on each other for survival. If you don't want to depend on anyone, go live in the woods and eat nuts. Otherwise, you depend on others, loads of people are already making your standard of living possible, and so it's only fair that others expect you to support a system which is more fair.
