Growing old, like a dying flower, a flower that has passed its expirary date, only to diminish away when no longer able bodied anymore. Serving no further genetic purpose your cells give out and you return to the earth of which you came.
And, on the other end of the spectrum, rather than life being taken away a new one is spawed, and just like Its countless deceaced predecasors, this new life too will share the same inevitable eventuality of death.
Out with the old and in with the new, death paves the way for life
