When I'm on cigs and porn I'm the happiest person. Optimistic about future and stuff.
However that quickly go down the more I use.
Low dopamine person also tend to seek novelty and prone to addiction.

NT don't have problems because they have healthy brain and reuptake dopamine by socializing, eating, physical activitites.

How do cigs raise dopamine? I smoked for a few months and didn't really notice that much of a difference. But I do with porn.

Nicotine boost your creativity, feels good only the first one. Porn is giving me ED so I'm taking a break from that

actually it is caused by both serotonin and dopamine dificiency and/or serotonin/dopamine receptor insensitivity

I watched a lot of porn, could that fried my receptors? or is it genetic predisposed?

Not that simple. The aetiology of mental condition differs. It may be the depletion of certain receptors in certain regions of the brain due to poor homeostasis or some other condition causing the chain reactions leading to different changes in neurottansmission of different chemicals in different parts of the brain dictated by the attempt to readjust the former level of functioning of the brain, etc.

It is meaningless to discuss mental conditions in a "take this selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and you'll be good to go in a month" fashion then, because nobody exactly knows what changes in what processes in what brain regions are induced by this or that specific agens and what are the implications for the measurable changes in perception, behavior or experiences.

They are not fried, but they could have lost some sensitivity.
When you watch porn/smoke a cigarette your body creates more receptors to "catch" dopamine molecules and to put each one of them in the nucleus of each dopamine receptor from where they will send "messages" via dna. After you have finished fapping/smoking, you are left with more dopamine receptors than dopamine molecules. This is called receptor insensitivity/downregulation or as some other scientists say "receptors are not saturated".
This process is the same in anabolic steroid users(when receptor isn't saturated anymore it cannot send more "requests" for anabolic activity via dna(hence the muscle loss after steroids),heroin users(opioid receptor isn't saturated anymore so it cannot send more "feel-good" requests via dna("feel-good" requests causing:lowered heartrate causing you to be more relaxed, lowered oxygen intake causing you to have a heavy feeling(body high))),etc...
I hope this explains it...
edit: i have to add that abstaining from heroin/steroids/smoking/etc..  will over time cause the number of created receptors to decrease and you will feel "normal" again...

So I actually have more dopamine receptors than I should. Always thought it was the other way around.

yeah but in simple terms you have more "glasses" to fill to feel good again... :)

that would be all nice and fair if we were machines that have cogs that can be replaced

shit life +
no friends
no sex
no physical activity
unsupportive environment

dude stop with the broscience it ain't that way

tell me what you experience on a daily basis and I tell you what that might be, not all mental disorders are rare and it's more than likely you are just a loser with anxiety

I completely agree. The causes are usually banal, but nobody seems to see the forest for the trees.

I actually agree that dopamine plays a much bigger role than the researchers realise.

Low motivation, low sex drive, anhedonia all sounds like low dopamine to me. Also coffee consumption is associated with a decreased risk of depression.
