Can someone explain why my 5Ghz internet is weaker than my 2.4Ghz one?

For some reason my 5Ghz doesn't work in the bathroom but the 2.4Ghz one does. They both are out of the same router too...

5 Ghz has less range, if I remember correctly.

Makes sense, just like radio waves I guess.

5ghz has shorter range but a faster speed and less interference

On my desktop PC my mouse and keyboard are wireless and use 2.4ghz signals to connect to the dongle (not WiFi though) so I uuse 5ghz WiFi there

It's quite logical..

Higher frequency means shorter wave length.

That means that the high frequency waves basically stuck on obstacles around the house (and phase typical changes) and as a result of this much information is lost and the receiver (your phone) cannot decode the signal correctly (it's bellow a certain Bit Error Rate threshold - BER) thus it disconnects.
